I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

What is the statue-search puzzle story?
Secrets of Knokke asks your team to locate an unflattering statue made in Alfred Verwee’s likeness and restore his dignity. The game runs in the browser on your own phone without an app. Along the route you see Heilig Hartkerk, Lichttorenplein and the A-maze-D sculpture. The fictional quest gives friends a common purpose while exploring together. Read the prompts and consider different suggestions before choosing an answer. The story provides the shared activity without asking one person to explain a tour to all the others. Between decisions, the walking time leaves room for conversation while your small group follows the search and shapes its next move together.

How does a party group share the game?
Secrets of Knokke permits at most four players to use one phone per team. Divide a larger bachelor or bachelorette gathering into suitable teams and agree on who brings a device before meeting. Take turns reading the prompts so the responsibility does not stay with one person throughout the walk. Give quieter friends time to explain their ideas alongside the quick answers. A small team makes the discussion easier to share than a conversation involving the full party at once. You can bring some competitive energy while keeping the atmosphere friendly. The quest supplies the task, and your teammates bring the different observations and suggestions that make it a shared activity from the start.
What are the practical details for friends?
The game costs €19.95 per team and lasts 1.5 to 2 hours. Starting is flexible every day, and your booking is valid for 12 months. Arrange a phone for each team of at most four players and prepare the browser before the group gathers. Agree on the team division so you can focus on playing when everyone is ready to walk. Leave enough space for the full activity in your celebration plans rather than treating it as a brief stop. Friends can then enjoy discussing the search without hurrying between other arrangements. After this shared opening challenge, continue with the rest of the stag or hen day you have organised.
Do we need to download an app?
No. Secrets of Knokke runs in your phone’s browser without an app.
What is the maximum team size?
At most four players share one phone per team.
How much time should we allow?
The game takes 1.5 to 2 hours.
Can we choose our starting time?
Yes. Start whenever you want, every day, within the booking’s 12-month validity.
