I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

What will your Knokke team search for?
Secrets of Knokke asks you to trace clues and find an unflattering statue carved in Alfred Verwee’s likeness to restore his dignity. You play in the browser on your own phone, with no app needed. Along the route you see Heilig Hartkerk and Lichttorenplein, with the A-maze-D Sculpture also among the surroundings you encounter. The story gives colleagues a shared goal while the walk provides time outside together. Discuss what you discover and hear different suggestions before deciding a response. Each teammate can contribute to the quest, making the activity something the small group approaches together rather than leaving the whole task to whoever holds the phone.

How can several work teams share the outing?
Each team has at most 4 players and uses its own phone; all teams can start at the same time and compare their scores. Decide the groups before beginning, perhaps mixing colleagues who rarely work alongside one another. The quest can provide their first common subject immediately. Keep the screen visible and make decisions part of the team conversation. Comparing scores creates something for the wider group to discuss afterwards, while shared answers leave room for everyone during play. The phone holder can participate alongside the others, so following the clues stays part of the whole small team’s experience throughout the walk.
What should the organiser allow for the game?
Allow 1.5 to 2 hours and €19.95 per team, with larger groups asking for a group quote on the website. You can start whenever you like, with daily availability and a booking valid for 12 months. No app installation is needed because the game runs in your own phone browser. Settle who plays together and choose a start that lets colleagues gather, then give the walk enough time in your outing plans. Once everyone is ready, the quest can be a shared task with space for exploring and discussing possibilities. Compare scores afterwards and return to the different ideas your teams considered during the game.
Does the quest need an app?
No. Secrets of Knokke runs in the browser on your own phone.
