I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

Where does the detective route take you?
Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Ostend leads your team from Leopold Park past the Mercator to the Kursaal on the seafront. You investigate on foot through the free Loquiz app. Choose this activity if your friends would enjoy a mystery as the thread connecting their walk. Read each prompt together and give different ideas a hearing before agreeing on an answer. The case provides the shared purpose without asking one friend to explain a tour to the others. Between decisions, the walking time leaves room for conversation. Your small group can explore and discuss together rather than simply follow whoever holds the device throughout the outing.

How should you divide the friends into teams?
The Ostend detective game permits at most four players on one phone per team. Arrange a larger bachelor or bachelorette gathering into suitable teams and decide who brings a device before meeting. Take turns reading the prompts so the responsibility does not stay with one person throughout the walk. Give quieter friends time to explain their suggestions alongside the quick answers. A small team makes that conversation easier to share than a discussion involving the entire party at once. You can bring a competitive spirit while keeping the atmosphere friendly. The case supplies the task, and your friends bring the different ideas that make it a shared activity from the start.
What are the cost and starting details?
The game costs €19.95 per team and lasts 1.5 to 2 hours. Starting is flexible every day, and the booking is valid for 12 months. Prepare the free Loquiz app and arrange a phone for each team of at most four players. Agree on the team division before friends gather so you can focus on playing when everyone is ready to walk. Leave enough space for the full activity in your celebration plans rather than treating it as a brief stop. Your friends can then discuss the case without hurrying between other arrangements. After this shared opening challenge, continue with the rest of the stag or hen day you have organised.
Which app does the game use?
The Ostend detective game uses the free Loquiz app.
Does everyone need a phone?
No. At most four players share one phone per team.
How much time should we allow?
The game takes 1.5 to 2 hours.
Can we choose when to begin?
Yes. Start whenever you want, every day, within the booking’s 12-month validity.
