I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

Which walk suits explorers or detective fans?

Secrets of Marseille starts at Vieux-Port and leads inland with puzzles and photo tasks. Along the route you see Statue Henri Tasso and Cathédrale La Major. Your friends follow the exploration game on one phone and discuss their ideas as they walk, without a guide leading the activity.

Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Marseille takes a case from La Vieille Charité down to the old harbour and Fort Saint-Jean. This detective choice gives your team a story to work through at its own pace. Both games use the free Loquiz app and allow at most four players per team. Arrange a separate phone for every team before your group meets.

What can five friends play on one phone?

The Marseille Syndicate (outdoor escape game) follows Magnus and the stolen formulas past Église Saint-Charles, Vieux-Port de Marseille and L'Ombrière de Norman Foster. At most five players can form a team using one phone in the free Loquiz app. You guide yourselves through the streets and follow the outdoor story at your own pace.

That team limit may help you arrange a bachelor or bachelorette guest list into smaller groups. Give each team a phone and encourage everyone to take part in its decisions. A shared chase can set a friendly competitive tone for the start of the celebration. Choose this option when following an outdoor story together sounds right for your friends.

How do we plan bookings for our guest list?

A Marseille game costs €19.95 per team and lasts 1.5 to 2 hours. Work out how many teams you need using four players as the exploration and detective limit, or five for the outdoor escape game. Every team uses one phone, so a larger celebration needs several team bookings and devices.

You can begin whenever you want, every day, with a booking valid for 12 months. Choose the activity first, then assign friends to teams that match it. Prepare the phones, agree a start and leave enough room for the walk in your day's plans. Since the games are self-guided, your group organises its own beginning and follows the chosen story together.

Can our hen group take part?

Yes. Bachelor and bachelorette groups can play in small teams and keep the competition friendly.

Where does exploration begin?

Secrets of Marseille starts at Vieux-Port and leads inland with puzzles and photo tasks.

Do the games need an app?

All three games use the free Loquiz app on your own phone.

How long is our booking valid?

The booking is valid for 12 months. You may start whenever you want, every day.
