I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

Which route will your friends explore together?
Secrets of Kinderdijk follows a self-guided walking route along the Lekdijk, the Nederwaard mills and the Wisboomgemaal, with puzzles and photo tasks. You play using the free Loquiz app on your own phone. The surroundings accompany the walk while the tasks give your small team something to solve and do together. Compare ideas before choosing a response, and share the photo tasks rather than leaving the activity to whoever holds the phone. The combination gives your friends a common subject from the outset. You can explore together while each teammate has a way to contribute to the first part of the celebration.

How can you include a larger group of friends?
Make teams of at most 4 players, using one phone per team. For a larger bachelor or bachelorette party, arrange several teams so everyone follows the game within a small group. You might mix guests who have just met and let the tasks provide their first common topic. Familiar friends can enjoy working through the puzzles together as well. Keep the screen accessible and invite different suggestions before deciding what to do. Friendly competition can bring focus to the opening activity while shared decisions leave room for everyone. Arrange the teams beforehand so you can concentrate on playing once your friends are ready to begin.
What does the game require in your day’s plans?
Allow 1.5 to 2 hours and €19.95 per team. The game is available daily, you can start whenever you like and your booking is valid for 12 months. This gives the organiser flexibility when choosing the start around your friends’ gathering arrangements. Prepare the free Loquiz app on the team phones and settle the small groups before beginning. Give the walk a clear space in the stag or hen day, with time for the puzzles, photo tasks and conversation. Once everyone is ready, the game can be your shared opening activity, letting friends participate alongside one another rather than hurrying to finish before the next plan.
