I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

Which route will colleagues explore in Kinderdijk?

Secrets of Kinderdijk follows a self-guided walking route along the Lekdijk, the Nederwaard mills and the Wisboomgemaal, with puzzles and photo tasks. You play using the free Loquiz app on your own phone. The surroundings accompany your time outside while the tasks give colleagues something to solve and do together. Compare suggestions before choosing your response, and share the photo tasks as part of the activity too. Each teammate can bring an idea into the conversation, keeping the game open to the whole small group. This makes the walk something you actively share through exploring and participating alongside colleagues rather than simply following one person’s decisions throughout play.

How do you organise colleagues into small teams?

Use one phone for each team of at most 4 players; all teams can start at the same time and compare their scores. Decide the groups before beginning, perhaps mixing colleagues who rarely work alongside one another. The puzzles provide a common subject immediately. Keep the screen accessible and invite more than one suggestion before deciding what to do together. Comparing scores creates a point of discussion for the wider group afterwards, while shared decisions within each team keep the activity sociable. The phone holder can participate alongside the others, so approaching the puzzles and photo tasks remains part of the whole small group’s experience throughout the walk.

What practical details help you plan the game?

Plan for 1.5 to 2 hours and €19.95 per team; larger groups can ask for a group quote on the website. The game is available daily, you can start whenever you like and your booking is valid for 12 months. Prepare the free Loquiz app on the team phones and settle who plays together before beginning. Choose a starting moment that lets colleagues gather, then give the walk its own time in your outing plans. That leaves space for exploring, puzzles and photo tasks without rushing the team conversation. Once everyone is ready, the game supplies a shared activity, with scores to compare after the teams finish playing together during the outing.

What app accompanies the route?

You play with the free Loquiz app on your own phone.

How many share each phone?

At most 4 players use one phone per team.

Can teams start at the same time?

Yes. All teams can start at the same time and compare their scores.

What should a larger work group do?

Larger groups can ask for a group quote on the website. The game costs €19.95 per team.
