I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

How we check reviews

These reviews were left by players on Google and other review sites and are copied from there as they are, with their source.

How does the detective route include the square?

Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Leuven leads from the historic town hall to the square and Ladeuzeplein, with M Leuven also appearing among its stops. These places give the investigation different city settings while your group explores on foot. The square is part of a broader outing rather than the only destination for the day.

Take a moment to notice the surroundings before reading onward. Companions may enjoy different parts of the outing, so it helps to give both the real place and the case attention. A short exchange about what each person notices keeps the city present in the experience before you return to the investigation and continue the route together.

How do companions share the detective activity?

Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Leuven is self-guided through the free Loquiz app on one phone. Up to four players form a team and compare their theories about the case. The device provides the activity while your group supplies the conversation and decisions that carry the investigation forward.

Let everyone hear each task before agreeing on an answer. A player without the device may see another approach worth explaining. Reading and discussing can change hands during the outing, so the phone holder does not have to manage every decision alone. This helps all companions remain part of the case rather than simply following the person who is operating the game.

What exploration alternative can your group choose?

Secrets of Leuven offers a separate walk with puzzles and photo tasks through the streets and squares around Grote Markt. Choose it for varied exploration tasks, or select the detective activity for a continuing investigation and the route that includes Oude Markt. Each game takes 1.5 to 2 hours and costs €19.95 per team of up to four players sharing one phone. Both use the free Loquiz app, offer flexible daily starts and remain valid for twelve months after purchase. Compare the formats with your group before choosing a suitable date. Extra visiting time belongs alongside the game duration.
