I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

How we check reviews

These reviews were left by players on Google and other review sites and are copied from there as they are, with their source.

Where does the museum appear in the detective outing?

Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Tournai includes Museum of Fine Arts after Pont des Trous and before Grand-Place and Saint-Jacques Church along its walking route. These places give the fictional case a real setting, connecting your museum search with a wider activity your group follows through Tournai.

At the museum stop, look around before returning to the investigation. You can enjoy arriving somewhere and still have a common task to continue discussing afterwards. The route supplies destinations, while the case gives the time between them a shared purpose. Your companions’ ideas can make the walking part of the activity, rather than simply the way to reach another place.

How do you keep the case open to everyone?

The game uses the free Loquiz app on your own phone, with at most 4 players sharing one team. You investigate a murder mystery on foot in Tournai, keeping the same case together on a shared device. Everyone can contribute without following an individual screen.

Read information aloud and ask what your teammates make of it before choosing your approach. A different interpretation may give the group something worth considering. Friends, couples or colleagues can enjoy thinking differently while working through one fictional story. The person carrying the phone can help by sharing what it presents, instead of making every decision alone. Your discussion is part of what makes this a group outing.

What should you plan for the playing day?

Allow 1.5 to 2 hours and €19.95 per team for the game. You can start whenever you want, every day, within the 12-month validity period. Choose a playing time that gives the people joining you room for the activity within their Tournai plans.

Arrange any independent museum visit separately from the walking game and its duration. Before beginning, decide which phone to share and confirm the team has at most 4 players. Once you start, let both the actual surroundings and the fictional investigation have attention. You can look around at a stop, then return to the case as the route continues, making both parts of the outing something your group shares.
