I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

Which game follows Dante’s missing page?

Secrets of Verona asks you to join Dante Alighieri in recovering a missing page of The Divine Comedy. Your city game Verona passes Piazza delle Erbe first, then Balcone di Romeo e Giulietta and afterwards Arena di Verona. These places accompany the search while your group follows clues through the story.

The game runs in the browser on your own phone, without an app. Plan around 1.5 to 2 hours. Choose this exploration if you want a walk with a shared search as its purpose. You can discuss ideas about the clues, share the information from the screen and notice the surroundings as you go at your own pace.

How does Sherlock’s route compare?

Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Verona gives your team a detective investigation using the free Loquiz app. You see Arena di Verona first, then Piazza dei Signori and afterwards Domus Mercatorum. The murder case follows its own route and is a separate story from Dante's missing-page search.

Allow around 1.5 to 2 hours and use your own phone. Before beginning, agree whether investigating a murder is the activity your group wants. The person with the phone can call up clues and read them aloud while everyone shares thoughts about the case. That makes the investigation a task for the whole team as you walk, rather than something left to the player holding the screen.

What should your Verona group plan?

Your city game Verona costs €19.95 per team with one phone and at most four players. This team limit applies to both stories. Decide who will join you, then choose the missing-page search or the murder case before opening the game. Your choice determines the route and the technology you use.

You can start whenever you like and should reserve around 1.5 to 2 hours. Open Secrets of Verona in your phone browser or use the free Loquiz app for the detective story. Agree which phone your team will share and who will pass on the clues. The other players can look around and contribute ideas while your group follows the selected story through the city.
