I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

How we check reviews

Which detective route includes the city hall?

Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Hamburg starts on Rathausmarkt and leads through Speicherstadt towards the Elbphilharmonie, with the city hall listed as a stop. These places give your case different settings as the walk develops. The investigation provides something to discuss between real city places rather than only a destination to reach.

No city hall admission or interior visit is specified for the game. If you want an additional visit, plan it independently alongside the walking activity. At the stop itself, give the real building attention before reading onward. Clear expectations help your companions understand the shared day and where extra visiting time belongs in the rest of your plans.

How does the outdoor escape mission use the same area?

The Hamburg Syndicate (outdoor escape game) leads from Gerhart-Hauptmann-Platz past St.-Petri-Kirche towards Rathausmarkt. You follow Magnus and the stolen formulas through the city streets, with a continuing pursuit giving your group a common purpose. Choose it when your companions prefer a street mission to the detective investigation on another route.

The outdoor escape game permits up to five players on one phone, compared with four for the detective activity. Both use the free Loquiz app. Let everyone hear each task and suggest an approach before agreeing on an answer. Reading and discussing can change hands during the walk, helping the activity remain shared rather than managed only by the phone holder.

What do time and starting arrangements have in common?

Both games take 1.5 to 2 hours and cost €19.95 per team. Both offer flexible daily starts and remain valid for twelve months after purchase. Compare their team limits and story styles, then choose a suitable date with your companions and prepare the free Loquiz app on the phone your team will share.

Discuss whether the game will be the main outing or part of a longer city visit. Extra time at individual places belongs alongside the game duration. With a clear common plan, everyone can arrive ready for the selected activity, giving the city hall and the other real settings attention between the decisions that carry your case or mission forward.

Is the city hall on the detective route?

Yes, it is one of the listed stops.

Which activity permits five players?

The Syndicate outdoor escape mission allows five per team.

Is an interior visit included?

No city hall admission or interior visit is specified.

Can we choose when to begin?

Both games offer flexible daily starts within twelve months of purchase.
