I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

How we check reviews

These reviews were left by players on Google and other review sites and are copied from there as they are, with their source.

Which detective route includes the palace?

Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Stuttgart includes Neues Schloss before Old Castle, Stuttgart Opera and Staatsgalerie Stuttgart along its walking route. These places provide a real setting for the fictional case, connecting your palace search with a broader activity your group follows together on foot through the city.

At the palace stop, take a moment to look around before returning to the game. You can enjoy arriving somewhere while still having a common task to continue considering afterwards. The route supplies destinations, while the investigation gives the time between them something to discuss. Both the actual surroundings and your companions’ ideas can contribute to the shared experience as the walk continues.

How does one phone work for the team?

At most 4 players share one team on one phone, using the free Loquiz app for the detective activity. You follow a murder mystery on foot in Stuttgart, keeping the same investigation available on a shared device. Every teammate can offer thoughts without following an individual screen.

Make sure the information reaches the whole group before deciding how to proceed. You can explain why an idea makes sense to you and hear another interpretation of the same detail. A couple, friends or colleagues may enjoy thinking differently while investigating one fictional story. Keep choices shared so the person handling the phone helps everyone participate rather than making every decision alone during the walk.

What are the cost and starting arrangements?

The game takes 1.5 to 2 hours and costs €19.95 per team. You can start whenever you want, every day, within the 12-month validity period. Choose a playing time that leaves your group room for the activity within its Stuttgart plans.

Keep independent visits to sights separate from the game duration. Before beginning, agree on the phone you will share and confirm the team has at most 4 players. Once you start, give attention to the actual places and your teammates’ ideas alongside the fictional case. Your route connects the destinations, while the group’s discussion helps make the time between them an active part of the experience you are enjoying together on foot.
