I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

How we check reviews

These reviews were left by players on Google and other review sites and are copied from there as they are, with their source.

Which places frame the castle stop?

Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Stuttgart takes you past Neues Schloss, then Old Castle and Stuttgart Opera. These real settings give the fictional investigation a city route while your group has questions to work through together. The castle becomes part of a walk where seeing places and solving both have a role.

Give the building a moment of attention before returning to the next instruction on your phone. The real landmark remains separate from the game story. If you want an independent visit as well, leave time alongside the activity so the walking investigation has space for exploring without trying to fit every other sightseeing plan inside its playing duration.

How does the case involve your companions?

You follow riddles and photo tasks in the free Loquiz app on one phone during the Stuttgart game. At most 4 players share a team, exploring without an accompanying guide. Read a challenge aloud and compare possible answers before choosing a response together.

A partner may suggest another interpretation, while friends or colleagues can offer several approaches. Give those ideas room in the conversation even when one player carries the device throughout. The phone holder can share the question without making every decision, keeping the investigation open to everyone while the real places along the route provide something else to notice between the fictional case's challenges.

What are the practical details before starting?

The activity costs €19.95 per team and takes 1.5 to 2 hours. One phone serves at most 4 players. Choose your shared device and companions beforehand, and allow space for walking as well as solving. Any additional visits can have separate time around the game in your day.

You can start whenever you want, every day, and the game is valid for 12 months. Pick when the outing works for your group and your visit to Stuttgart. Open the app ready to share the challenges, giving the fictional investigation time of its own while the city offers real settings to see together as you follow the route on foot.
