I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

Why include the square in a city outing?

Luisenplatz is a square in Wiesbaden and is passed by Secrets and The Syndicate. Looking across the space lets your group take in the surrounding buildings together rather than focusing on a single landmark. Pause to notice that wider city setting before continuing your activity. A game connects this sightseeing moment with something everyone shares throughout the walk. You might prefer discovery puzzles or follow a pursuit after stolen formulas through the streets. Choose the theme with your companions before setting off, so the square becomes one recognisable point in an outing that combines looking around with a common activity to follow together.

Which routes connect Luisenplatz with Wiesbaden sights?

Secrets of Wiesbaden passes Luisenplatz during a walk with puzzles, photo tasks and city stories. Its route includes St. Boniface Church before Marktkirche, then the Kaiser Friedrich monument and Römertor. The Wiesbaden Syndicate (outdoor escape game) also passes the square, following Magnus and stolen formulas from Marktplatz towards Kaiser-Friedrich-Platz. You encounter Marktkirche before that square, then Bäckerbrunnen and Langgasse along its route. For a detective alternative, Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Wiesbaden begins at Bonifatiusplatz. You see Marktkirche before the state theatre and Kochbrunnen, giving your group another story to compare when selecting an activity to share during a city walk together.

How do you plan the game with your group?

The Wiesbaden games take 1.5 to 2 hours and cost €19.95 per team. You use one phone with the free Loquiz app. Secrets and Sherlock Holmes allow at most 4 players per team; The Syndicate allows at most 5. Check the themes and these limits with the people joining you before choosing what to play. You can begin whenever you want, every day, and your game stays valid for 12 months.
