I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

Which dark stories does Bremen tell?

Bremen's best known dark story is that of Gesche Gottfried, who poisoned more than a dozen people, among them members of her own family. She was executed on the Domshof in 1831, the last public execution in the city. A stone in the pavement, the Spuckstein, marks the spot, and some locals still spit on it.

Under the cathedral lies the Bleikeller, a cellar where bodies dried out into mummies over the centuries. It is one of the more unusual sights of the old town and a fitting thought on a cold evening near the Markt.

In Bremen, 31 October is also Reformation Day, a public holiday since 2018, so many people have the day off to go out.

Which City Game can you play in Bremen at Halloween?

Three games run through the centre, and each takes 1.5 to 2 hours.

In Secrets of Bremen you start on the Markt and wander down Böttcherstraße with puzzles and photo tasks. The Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Bremen is a detective case based on Sherlock Holmes: on the way you pass the Bremer Stadtmusikanten, Böttcherstraße and the Schnoorviertel. The Bremen Syndicate (outdoor escape game) is an outdoor alternative to an escape room for 2 to 5 players: you track Magnus and the stolen formulas from the Bremer Marktplatz past St.-Martini-Kirche to the Schlachte along the Weser.

All three are played with the free Loquiz app on one phone per team.

Is there a ghost game for halloween Bremen?

Our ghost game Ghost Hunters is coming to Bremen. It is not ready here yet, but you can leave your e-mail address on this page and we will let you know as soon as it starts.

Until then, the existing games work well as a Halloween outing. Play in the late afternoon and you finish in the dark, when the half-timbered houses of the Schnoor throw long shadows and the river breeze picks up. Bring a torch for reading the clues on street corners and a warm coat for the walk.

What does it cost and how do you get a discount?

A game costs €19.95 per team: one phone, at most 4 players. For The Bremen Syndicate (outdoor escape game) a team has 2 to 5 players.

With the code HALLOWEEN50 you get 50% off all our games, valid until 2 November. You buy a ticket online, open the game on your phone at the start and play at your own pace. There is no guide and no fixed time slot, so you choose when your evening begins.

Is the Bremen Syndicate an escape room?
