I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

What dark history does Stockholm have?
The darkest day in Stockholm's history happened on Stortorget, the small square at the heart of Gamla stan. In November 1520 the Danish king Christian II had dozens of Swedish nobles and clergy executed there, an event remembered as the Stockholm Bloodbath.
Today the square is lined with colourful houses and cafés, but on a cold, dark evening it is easy to picture that day. Around it, lanes such as Mårten Trotzigs gränd squeeze between tall walls, and the bells of Storkyrkan ring out over the roofs. A walk here after dark feels like stepping back several centuries.

How is Halloween celebrated in Stockholm?
Halloween has become popular in Sweden over the past decades, with carved pumpkins, costume parties and children in disguise. The older Swedish tradition comes at the same time of year: on All Saints' Day, people light candles on graves, and cemeteries glow in the dark with thousands of small flames.
That calm, candlelit side of the season suits Stockholm well. The evenings are dark by late afternoon, the water around the islands is black and still, and the streets of the old town and Södermalm are perfect for a slow walk with a purpose.
Which City Game can you play in Stockholm at Halloween?
There are two versions of Secrets of Stockholm. One runs in the browser on your own phone, no app: you help Björn the Shadow Watch on a route past Södra Teatern, the Mariahissen and the Münchenbryggeriet on Södermalm. The other runs in the free Loquiz app and leads you past the Royal Palace, the Nobel Prize Museum and Storkyrkan.
Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Stockholm is a detective story based on Sherlock Holmes that starts in Mårten Trotzigs gränd and passes the Stock Exchange Building and Stortorget. Each game takes 1.5 to 2 hours and costs €19.95 per team.
