I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

What does the exploration game offer colleagues?
Secrets of Essen begins on Burgplatz and guides you through the centre with puzzles and photo tasks. Along the walk you see Kreuzeskirche and Jahrhundertbrunnen. At most four players share a phone using the free Loquiz app. Your colleagues guide themselves and can discuss how to approach the tasks as they explore. Choose this option when varied activities suit your outing. Everyone can bring observations to the discussion, keeping the experience shared around the phone while the team follows the game at its own pace.

Where can we follow a detective story?
Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Essen takes a case from Marktkirche past the cathedral to Alte Synagoge. It uses the free Loquiz app on one phone, with at most four players per team. Colleagues can discuss the mystery during a self-guided walk through the centre. Choose it when your group wants a case to investigate together. Arrange a phone for each team and encourage everyone to suggest ideas, rather than leaving decisions only to the person handling the screen throughout the activity.
What outdoor escape choice fits five colleagues?
The Essen Syndicate (outdoor escape game) follows Magnus and the stolen formulas past Burgplatz, Essener Dom and Kettwiger Straße. It allows at most five players on one team phone using the free Loquiz app. Colleagues guide themselves through the streets and follow the story at their own pace. This player limit offers another way to arrange the group into small teams. Keep competition friendly, let everyone contribute to decisions and make the outdoor chase a shared focus for your colleagues during the outing.
How do we plan the team count and cost?
Each game costs €19.95 per team and takes 1.5 to 2 hours. Calculate team numbers within the four-player exploration and detective limit, or five for the outdoor escape game, with one phone per team. Choose the story, assign colleagues and agree a start with time for the walk.
