I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

Which walk explores the fortified town?

Secrets of Heusden is a self-guided walking tour past mills, ramparts, old town gates and the fortress harbour. It uses the free Loquiz app on your own phone. Along the route you see Oude Herptse Poort, Grote of Sint-Catharinakerk and Wijkse Poort. Pick this option when colleagues want to explore while following a common activity. Share the prompts and hear different suggestions before choosing an answer. A team of at most four keeps quieter ideas part of the conversation alongside quick answers. The tour provides the shared focus without one colleague needing to lead every part of the walk or create extra challenges at each place.

Where does the detective route lead?

Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Heusden follows a case from Wijkse Poort to the town harbour. You also see Oude Herptse Poort and Grote of Sint-Catharinakerk along the walking route. Your team investigates through the free Loquiz app, with one phone for at most four players. Choose this theme if colleagues enjoy discussing a mystery as they explore. Read prompts together so everyone can follow the story and contribute a suggestion before deciding. The small team gives each person room to speak without needing all colleagues to agree at every step. A continuing case provides the activity’s thread while teammates take turns shaping the discussion and decisions.

What should you arrange before gathering?

Both Heusden games cost €19.95 per team and take 1.5 to 2 hours. Starting is flexible every day, and bookings are valid for 12 months. Arrange teams of at most four, each with its own phone, and prepare the free Loquiz app. All teams can begin at the same time and compare scores after playing. Leave enough time for the full walking activity in your schedule so teams can enjoy solving together before you continue with the outing’s other arrangements.
