I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

What will colleagues do on the Scheveningen route?
Secrets of Scheveningen combines a self-guided walk with puzzles and photo tasks, taking you past the Circustheater and the boulevard. You play using the free Loquiz app, with Palacestraat and De Pier also among the places you see along the route. The surroundings give colleagues a setting to take in while the tasks offer something concrete to solve and do together. Discuss possible responses and let teammates explain why they favour a suggestion. Share the photo tasks as part of the same activity. This gives different people room to contribute, keeping the game part of the whole small group’s experience rather than a task for whoever holds the phone.

How do small teams share the wider outing?
Each team has at most 4 players and uses its own phone; all teams can start at the same time and compare their scores. Choose the groups before you begin so colleagues know their teammates. Mixing people who do not often work in the same small circle gives the tasks a role as an immediate shared subject. Keep the screen where everyone can follow and make your decisions through discussion. The score comparison gives the wider group a point to return to after play, while listening within each team leaves room for individual ideas during the walk. The phone holder can participate alongside everyone else without directing every response.
What should the organiser put in the schedule?
Allow 1.5 to 2 hours at €19.95 per team; larger groups can ask for a group quote on the website. You can play daily, start whenever you like and use a booking valid for 12 months. Prepare the free Loquiz app on each team’s phone and settle the starting moment before the outing begins. Give the route enough space in your plans for exploring, puzzles and photo tasks without rushing the conversation. Once colleagues have gathered and the groups are ready, you can begin a clear shared activity. Compare scores afterwards and talk about the different ideas your teams considered as they worked through the game together during the walk.
