I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

Which exploration route includes Palace Promenade?
Secrets of Scheveningen includes Palace Promenade after Kurhaus Scheveningen and Palacestraat, with De Pier also on its walking route. These places give the exploration a real setting, connecting your interest in one destination with a wider outing that includes puzzles and photo tasks to follow together.
At the promenade stop, give the surroundings some attention before returning to the activity. Your group can enjoy reaching somewhere while still having a common task to carry on with as the walk continues. The route supplies places to anticipate, and the tasks invite your teammates to contribute ideas. Both can be part of an outing where participation matters alongside seeing the actual area on foot.

How do teammates share the walking game?
The game runs through the free Loquiz app on your own phone and allows at most 4 players per team. You explore Scheveningen on foot, keeping the puzzles and photo tasks together on a shared device. Everyone can take part without following a separate screen.
Read what the activity presents before you agree on an approach. You can discuss a puzzle, explain a suggestion and decide how to tackle a photo task as a group. Friends, couples or colleagues may enjoy contributing in different ways to the same exploration. Keep the information available to everyone so the person carrying the phone helps the whole team participate rather than making every decision alone during the walk.
What do you need to arrange before playing?
The game takes 1.5 to 2 hours and costs €19.95 per team. You can start whenever you want, every day, within the 12-month validity period. Choose a moment that gives the people joining you enough room for the activity in their Scheveningen plans.
Keep independent sightseeing visits separate from the game duration. Before starting, agree on the phone you will share and confirm that the team has at most 4 players. Once you begin, let the actual surroundings and your teammates’ ideas have attention alongside the tasks on the device.
