I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

Which walk explores the town landmarks?
Secrets of Schoonhoven is a self-guided exploration game past the silver museum, old town hall and town gates. It uses the free Loquiz app on your own phone. Choose this option when colleagues want to explore with a common activity guiding their attention. Share the prompts and hear suggestions from each teammate before choosing the next answer. A team of at most four leaves space for quieter ideas alongside the quick answers. Taking turns with the device can keep everyone involved rather than leave the activity entirely with one confident player. The game supplies the shared focus without anyone needing to organise extra challenges for each place.

Where does the detective case lead?
Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Schoonhoven takes your team from Veerpoort on the Lek to Lopikerstraat. Along the walking route you also see Grote of Bartholomeüskerk and Nederlands Zilvermuseum. You investigate through the free Loquiz app, with one phone for at most four players. Pick this theme if colleagues enjoy discussing a mystery as they explore. Read prompts together and consider different suggestions before agreeing on your next answer. The small group gives each person a voice without needing all colleagues to settle every decision. A continuing case provides the common purpose while teammates take turns shaping the discussion and the choices they make together.
What should the organiser prepare?
Both Schoonhoven games cost €19.95 per team and take 1.5 to 2 hours. Start whenever you want, every day, with a booking valid for 12 months. Arrange teams of at most four, each with its own phone, and prepare the free Loquiz app. All teams can begin at the same time and compare scores after playing.
