I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

Which exploration game passes the bridge?

Secrets of Schoonhoven passes Main Canal Bridge on a self-guided exploration through the town. Its route includes Luie Leerling Statue, Veerpoort and Olivier van Noort Statue. These places give your activity a real setting, connecting an interest in the bridge with a wider outing your group follows together.

At the bridge, give the actual surroundings attention before returning to the game. You can enjoy reaching a place and still have a common task to continue with afterwards. The route supplies destinations, while the exploration gives your teammates something to discuss between them. It is an option for people who like sightseeing to include participation alongside the walk through Schoonhoven on foot.

What does the detective alternative involve?

Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Schoonhoven follows a detective case from Veerpoort on the Lek to Lopikerstraat. Its route also includes Grote of Bartholomeüskerk and Nederlands Zilvermuseum. Choose it if your group prefers investigating a murder mystery to following an exploration activity through the town.

Both games use the free Loquiz app on your own phone. Decide which option suits your teammates before beginning and follow its own route. If Main Canal Bridge is central to your plans, Secrets of Schoonhoven is the game that passes it. Friends, couples or colleagues can compare the activities and choose a common task they would enjoy sharing while noticing the real places around them on foot.

What are the practical details for your team?

Both games cost €19.95 per team, take 1.5 to 2 hours and allow at most 4 players sharing one phone. Starting is flexible every day, and the purchase stays valid for 12 months. Choose a playing time that gives the group room for the activity within its Schoonhoven day.

Keep independent visits to sights separate from the game duration. Agree on your shared phone and make the information available to everyone through reading and discussion. Each teammate can offer ideas even when someone else handles the device. Your chosen activity supplies the focus, while the route and your group’s conversation help make the time between destinations part of an outing you are doing together.
