I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

Which stories suit teams of up to four?
Secrets of Edinburgh follows Maggie Dickson as you track down the cursed Hangman's Hood. The walk passes the statue of Walter Francis Montagu Douglas Scott and Greyfriars Bobby Statue. It runs in the browser on your own phone, with no app needed, and allows at most four players per team.
Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Edinburgh follows a case from Canongate Kirk up Royal Mile to St Giles' Cathedral. It also allows four players sharing a phone but uses the free Loquiz app. Choose the story your colleagues want to discuss, then arrange teams and their devices. Everyone can offer ideas while each team guides itself through the walking activity.

What outdoor escape story fits five colleagues?
The Edinburgh Syndicate (outdoor escape game) follows Magnus and the stolen formulas past St Giles' Cathedral, Museum on the Mound and New College. It allows at most five players sharing one phone with the free Loquiz app. Your colleagues guide themselves through the streets and take the story at their team's pace.
The five-player limit offers your organiser another way to arrange colleagues into small groups. Everyone can help make decisions around the phone, keeping the outdoor chase a shared activity. Choose it when that story sounds right for your outing. Keep rivalry friendly and prepare a device for every team before gathering to begin the chosen walking game together.
How can a larger group organise the outing?
A game costs €19.95 per team and lasts 1.5 to 2 hours. Calculate team numbers within the four-player city story and detective limit, or five for the outdoor escape option. Every team uses its own phone. Larger groups can ask for a group quote on the website.
All teams can start at the same time and compare scores. Choose the story before assigning colleagues so the groups fit its size, then check the phone setup. You may begin on any day whenever you want, with a booking valid for 12 months. Agree a shared start and allow room for the walk while teams follow the self-guided activity on their own devices.
Can teams compare scores?
Yes. Teams can start at the same time and compare their scores, each playing on its own phone.
