I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

What happens when you choose the Syndicate?

The Den Bosch Syndicate (outdoor escape game) starts at Markt and follows a story about Magnus and stolen formulas. The route continues past Sint-Janskathedraal and Oude Dieze, giving the mission places to encounter as you explore. This is an adventure in the streets, with your group working through the story as you walk. Begin by making sure everyone can follow the first prompt, then decide together how to approach the challenge. The square gives your outing a starting point, but the shared pursuit is what connects the places along the route and keeps your team involved between them throughout the game.

Which alternative suits a curious group?

Secrets of Den Bosch includes Small City Wall Chapel, St. John’s Cathedral (Sint-Janskathedraal), Jheronimus Bosch Art Center and the Markt, in that walking order. Puzzles, photo tasks and city stories give this adventure its discovery format. Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Den Bosch offers a detective case from Markt past De Moriaan to Het Noordbrabants Museum. Pick the game according to the activity your group wants to share: discovery, investigation or the Syndicate mission. The choice gives your companions a clear expectation for the walk, whether they want varied tasks connected to the city or one case to discuss as they explore together.

What does your team need to know first?

All three adventures use the free Loquiz app and take around 1.5 to 2 hours. Each costs €19.95 per team. Secrets and Sherlock Holmes accept up to four players sharing one phone, while the Syndicate accepts up to five. Flexible starts are available daily, with the purchase valid for 12 months. Choose a moment when your group has time to enjoy the game and the walk without rushing on to another plan. Read prompts aloud or show the screen when useful, allowing everyone to consider the same information. You can then compare suggestions and agree on an answer together before carrying on through the city.
