I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

Where does the central Paris mystery lead?
Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Paris follows a detective case on foot from Place Georges Pompidou into the streets of the Marais. You use the free Loquiz app while exploring, keeping the mystery with your team throughout the walk. This gives your friends a shared thread to follow as the city provides the setting. You can take in your surroundings and then return to discussing the information in front of you. The detective work does not have to belong to the person holding the phone: invite everyone to suggest a possibility. That combination of walking and conversation gives your bachelor or bachelorette group an activity to begin together.

How can you make the teams sociable?
Keep each team to at most 4 players, using one phone. If your party has more friends, divide into several teams before you begin. Think about the introductions you want the activity to encourage: people who know the bride or groom from different places can have something to work on together straight away. Make sure each teammate can follow the game and hear the others’ thoughts. A quick answer from one person can be a starting point for discussion rather than the only contribution. Keep the competition friendly and let the small team format create time for your friends to talk as well as solve the case.
What should you reserve in the day?
Reserve 1.5 to 2 hours and budget €19.95 per team for the game. You can start whenever you like, play daily and use your booking within 12 months. This lets you choose a starting time around gathering the party, which is useful when the detective walk is your first shared activity. Prepare the free Loquiz app on each team’s phone and agree on your small groups beforehand. Once you begin, give the case enough room in your plans for everyone to take part in the thinking. The walk then becomes a dedicated part of the celebration, with your friends sharing the experience from the start.
Is this suitable for a bachelorette group?
Yes. Stag and hen groups can both play in small teams, with a friendly competitive approach.
What is the price per team?
The price is €19.95 per team, using one phone with at most 4 players.
Which app do we use?
You use the free Loquiz app for this detective game.
Is there a fixed starting hour?
You can start whenever you like. The game is available daily and your booking is valid for 12 months.
