Changgyeonggung Palace

Changgyeonggung Palace (창경궁) is one of the palaces that went through many changes over time. Originally named Sungganggung, it gained its current name Changgyeonggung in 1483. However, during the Japanese colonial period, the Japanese transformed the palace into Changgyeongwon park. As a result, it was used as a zoo and a botanical garden. After the Korean War, it was restored as a palace into the form of what we see today.

Gyeonghuigung Palace

Gyeonghuigung Palace (경희궁) is located on the west side of Gyeongbokgung Palace. During times of emergency, Kings used this place as a secondary palace in order to protect themselves. However, sadly, due to the combination of war, neglect, and urban growth, only 33% of the palace was able to be reconstructed. Although it has lost most of its original form, its beauty attracts many tourists around the world.
