I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

What does the old-town puzzle game include?

Secrets of Osnabruck combines a self-guided walking tour with puzzles and photo tasks around the old town. This city game Osnabruck passes Hexengang first, then St. Peter's Cathedral and later the historic city hall. The route gives your team places to see while the tasks give you a shared activity along the way.

You play with the free Loquiz app on your own phone and should allow around 1.5 to 2 hours. Choose this version if you want different kinds of tasks during your exploration. The person with the phone can share the instructions while everyone contributes ideas. That keeps the walk and the game connected, with your whole group involved in the selected story.

Which story takes you after the stolen formulas?

The Osnabruck Syndicate (outdoor escape game) asks you to solve puzzles while hunting Magnus and the stolen formulas. You see Markt first, then Dom St. Petrus and afterwards Hasetorwall. This pursuit is a separate game from the old-town exploration, giving your walk a different shared objective.

It also uses the free Loquiz app and takes around 1.5 to 2 hours. Decide before beginning whether the hunt is the story you want to follow. You use your own phone and can discuss the clues with everyone as you go. One person can read out the information, allowing the others to offer ideas and compare thoughts while the group moves through the city at its own pace.

How do you choose the right team setup?

Your city game Osnabruck costs €19.95 per team with one phone and a story-specific player limit. Secrets of Osnabruck allows at most four players. The Osnabruck Syndicate (outdoor escape game) allows at most five. Put your group together within the limit for the story you select.

You choose when to start and should set aside around 1.5 to 2 hours. Both stories use the free Loquiz app, so the choice rests on the task and the size of your team. Agree which phone you will share and who will call up the clues. Everyone else can contribute thoughts and look around, making your self-guided outing a shared activity while you follow the game's story together.

Can five people play one story together?

How long should I set aside?
