I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

What does the old-town puzzle exploration include?

Secrets of Osnabruck combines a self-guided walking tour with puzzles and photo tasks around the old town, Marktplatz and city hall. Your scavenger hunt Osnabruck passes Hexengang first, then St. Peter's Cathedral and later the historic city hall. These places accompany the route while the tasks give your group different activities to share.

You use your own phone with the free Loquiz app and allow around 1.5 to 2 hours. Choose this exploration if you want puzzles and photo activities during the outing. One player can share the instructions while everyone offers ideas and looks around. You can discuss the selected task as you go at your own pace, connecting the game with your team's walk.

How does the hunt for Magnus guide you?

The Osnabruck Syndicate (outdoor escape game) asks you to solve puzzles while hunting Magnus and the stolen formulas. You see Markt first, then Dom St. Petrus and afterwards Hasetorwall. The pursuit follows its own route and gives your outing a separate story from the old-town puzzle-and-photo tour.

The game uses the free Loquiz app on your own phone and takes around 1.5 to 2 hours. Decide before starting whether chasing the formulas is the task your team wants. The clues give everyone information to discuss while walking together. Reading them aloud keeps the selected story a shared activity, with all players able to compare ideas as you follow the pursuit through the city at your group's pace.

What are the price and player limits?

Your scavenger hunt Osnabruck costs €19.95 per team using one phone, with a player limit that depends on the story. Secrets of Osnabruck allows at most four players. The Osnabruck Syndicate (outdoor escape game) allows at most five. Put your group together within the limit for your selected game.

You can begin whenever you like and should reserve around 1.5 to 2 hours. Both stories use the free Loquiz app, so choose according to the task and group size. A couple or small group can select the activity that interests them and play together within the stated limit. Sharing the clues lets everyone notice the surroundings and contribute thoughts, keeping the game connected with your self-guided outing throughout the walk.
