I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

How does a museum stop fit a walking game?
Aalborg Historiske Museum is a museum on Algade in Aalborg that you can include in your city game sightseeing. Pause to recognise the building and talk about whether a separate museum visit interests your group. The game itself is a walking activity across city places, so leave any interior visit as a separate plan. This helps you reserve enough time for what you actually want to do. During the walk, alternate between the activity on your shared phone and looking at the surroundings. The museum then becomes one meaningful point in a larger outing rather than just a name on a route.

Which of the Aalborg games pass the museum?
Secrets of Aalborg and The Aalborg Syndicate (outdoor escape game) both pass the museum, and the detective route names it too. The exploration game starts at Budolfi Kirke and includes puzzles and photo tasks, taking you past Hjelmerstald and Aalborg Kloster. The outdoor escape story follows Magnus and stolen formulas from Budolfi Church, passing Jens Bangs Stenhus and Aalborg Rådhus. Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Aalborg offers an investigation on foot, with Gammeltorv and the museum on its route from Toldbod Plads. Choose by the activity your group wants to share, rather than deciding only on the museum stop itself.
What are the team limits across these games?
The exploration and detective games allow at most 4 players per team, while the outdoor escape game allows at most 5. All three cost €19.95 per team, last 1.5 to 2 hours and use the free Loquiz app on one shared phone. Match your chosen story to your group size before setting out, then make the decisions something everyone can discuss. These are self-guided activities, leaving the pace of your walk to your own companions. You can start whenever you want, every day, with validity for 12 months. Plan separate visits around the game if you want to spend additional time at the museum.
