I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

Which street mission passes the cathedral?
The Munster Syndicate (outdoor escape game) starts on Domplatz and includes the cathedral, St.-Lamberti-Kirche and the Borromaeum seminary among its route stops. You follow Magnus and the stolen formulas through the streets, connecting these real places with an outdoor escape activity. The cathedral is one part of that wider walk.
At the building, give the place attention separately from the fictional mission. Be considerate of people visiting or using the cathedral, and take time to look before reading onward. No church admission or interior visit is specified for the game. Any separate cathedral visit should have its own place in your plans alongside the activity.

How can five people take part together?
The Munster Syndicate (outdoor escape game) allows up to five players sharing one phone with the free Loquiz app. This lets a group of five stay in one team for the same mission. You play self-guided, discussing possible approaches and deciding together how to continue.
Make sure everyone can hear the task before the team chooses an answer. The phone holder can read while another companion explains an idea, and you can change these roles during the walk. This helps the mission belong to the whole group. Looking around between tasks also keeps the real city present alongside the story you are following through it.
What puzzle alternative starts in the same area?
Secrets of Munster offers a separate exploration game from Domplatz with puzzles and photo tasks in the old town. Choose it if varied tasks appeal more to your group than the outdoor escape pursuit. It permits up to four players per team, while the Syndicate mission allows five and includes the cathedral among its listed stops.
Both games use the free Loquiz app, take 1.5 to 2 hours and cost €19.95 per team on one phone. Both offer flexible daily starts and remain valid for twelve months after purchase. Compare group size and activity style, then find a suitable date with your companions before heading out together.
