I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

How we check reviews

These reviews were left by players on Google and other review sites and are copied from there as they are, with their source.

How does the basilica fit this detective walk?

Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Regensburg passes the Basilica of the Nativity of Our Lady at Schwarze-Bären-Straße 7. The religious site is a real destination to notice, separate from the fictional murder plot. Do not treat the case as an explanation of its history or religious meaning. A route passing the building does not establish admission or an included interior tour, so plan any independent visit separately. For the game, bring everyone back to the same instruction and discuss possible answers before deciding. The walking investigation gives the group a shared purpose without requiring every place you see to become a setting in the story.

What old-town route does the game describe?

The game description leads from Neupfarrplatz to the cathedral and Porta Praetoria through Regensburg's old town. With the basilica featured here, these named places give your investigation a city setting. Follow the game for actual directions rather than building an independent sightseeing programme from the names alone. Between tasks, compare what your team has understood and invite another explanation before settling on an answer. Walking gives that conversation room to develop, while the fictional case keeps your decisions connected. Keep any independent interior visits outside the activity so the group can follow its investigation as a continuous outing instead of repeatedly changing plans.

What are the cost and phone requirements?

The Regensburg mystery takes 1.5 to 2 hours and costs €19.95 per team. At most 4 players share one phone using the free Loquiz app. Read each instruction aloud so friends, colleagues or a couple can work from the same information without separate screens. Give different players a chance to suggest an answer, keeping the shared device as a tool for the group rather than one person's private activity. You can start whenever you want, every day, and the game remains valid for 12 months. Leave enough time for the walking case and its discussions, with any independent basilica visit arranged separately from the game.
