I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

How we check reviews

These reviews were left by players on Google and other review sites and are copied from there as they are, with their source.

What does the exploration walk offer colleagues?

Secrets of Amersfoort combines puzzles and photo tasks with stories about Lange Jan, Koppelpoort and the Muurhuizen. At most four players share one phone using the free Loquiz app. Colleagues guide themselves through the activity, discussing observations and approaches as they walk. Choose it when varied exploration tasks suit your outing. Everyone can help make decisions, keeping the challenge shared around the phone rather than leaving all the activity to the person holding the screen while the team follows the game.

Where can our detective team follow a case?

Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Amersfoort follows a case from Hof to Onze Lieve Vrouwetoren. It uses the free Loquiz app on your own phone, with a maximum of four players per team. Colleagues can discuss the mystery while guiding themselves through the walk at their own pace. Pick this story when investigating together sounds like the focus your group wants. Arrange a phone for every team and encourage everyone to suggest ideas as the detective activity gives the outing a shared walking challenge.

What outdoor escape game accommodates five players?

The Amersfoort Syndicate (outdoor escape game) follows Magnus and the stolen formulas past Hof, Sint-Joriskerk and Kamperbinnenpoort. It allows at most five players sharing one phone with the free Loquiz app. Colleagues guide themselves through the streets and take the story at their team's pace. This limit gives your organiser another way to divide colleagues into small groups. Keep rivalry relaxed and let everyone contribute to decisions, making the outdoor chase a shared activity around the phone and a common focus for the outing.

How do we arrange the group cost and beginning?

Each game costs €19.95 per team and takes 1.5 to 2 hours. Count teams within the four-player exploration and detective limit, or five for the outdoor escape option, and prepare one phone per team. Larger groups can ask for a group quote on the website. All teams can start at the same time and compare scores. You can begin whenever you want, every day, with a booking valid for 12 months. Choose a story, assign colleagues and agree a shared start with time for the walk.

Can our teams begin together?

Yes. Teams can start at the same time and compare scores, each using its own phone.

Which option includes photo tasks?

Secrets of Amersfoort combines exploration puzzles and photo tasks during a self-guided city walk.

Can five people share the detective game?

The detective game allows at most four players per team. The Amersfoort Syndicate (outdoor escape game) allows five.
