I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

How we check reviews

These reviews were left by players on Google and other review sites and are copied from there as they are, with their source.

How does the detective route include the church?

Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Harderwijk takes you past Vischpoort and Stadsmuseum Harderwijk, then the church and the old town wall. These places give the investigation different city settings while your team works on a common case. The church is part of the wider walk rather than the only destination for the day.

No church admission or interior visit is specified for the activity. Take a moment to notice the building and be considerate of people visiting or using it. If you want a separate visit, plan its time independently alongside the game so your companions understand what the shared outing includes and where any extra plans belong.

Which outdoor escape route also passes this landmark?

The Harderwijk Syndicate (outdoor escape game) includes Kerkplein, the church, Stadsmuseum Harderwijk and Marius van Dokkum Museum among its stops. You follow Magnus and the stolen formulas through the streets, giving your group a continuing pursuit instead of a detective investigation. Choose the story that fits your companions’ preferred activity.

The street mission allows up to five players on one phone, while the detective game permits four. Both use the free Loquiz app. Let everyone hear each task and offer an approach before agreeing on an answer. Reading and discussing can change hands during the outing, helping the activity remain shared rather than managed only by the phone holder.

What do both games require in time and preparation?

Both activities take 1.5 to 2 hours and cost €19.95 per team. Both offer flexible daily starts and remain valid for twelve months after purchase. Compare group size and preferred story, then find a suitable date with your companions and prepare the free Loquiz app on the phone you will share.

Decide whether the game is the main outing or one part of a longer city visit. Extra time at individual places belongs alongside the game duration. With that plan clear, everyone can arrive ready for the same activity, giving the church and the other real settings attention between the decisions that carry your case or mission forward.

Do both routes pass the church?

Yes, it is listed in both described games.

Which activity permits five players?

The Syndicate outdoor escape mission allows five per team.

Is a church visit included?

No admission or interior visit is specified.

Can we choose when to begin?

Yes, both games offer flexible daily starts within twelve months of purchase.
