I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

How we check reviews

These reviews were left by players on Google and other review sites and are copied from there as they are, with their source.

How does the street mission include the square?

The Roermond Syndicate (outdoor escape game) takes you past Sint-Christoffelkathedraal and Straatkapel Luifelstraat to the square and city hall. These places give the pursuit different settings while your team follows Magnus and the stolen formulas. The square becomes one part of a broader walk rather than its only destination.

Allow your companions time to look around before the next instruction takes attention. Different people may enjoy different aspects of the day, so it helps to give both the setting and the activity room. A brief exchange about what each person notices keeps the real city present in the outing before you return to the mission and continue the route together.

What does the outdoor escape game offer a team?

The Roermond Syndicate (outdoor escape game) allows up to five players on one phone with the free Loquiz app. You play self-guided in the city streets, following a continuing mission as you explore. Choose it when your companions want a pursuit to connect their walk and conversation between real places.

Let everyone hear each task before settling on an answer. A player without the device in their hand may suggest another approach worth discussing. You can change who reads or explains during the walk, so the phone holder does not have to carry every decision alone. This helps the activity remain open to the whole group throughout the outing.

Which separate activity provides a detective investigation?

Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Roermond leads from Munsterplein to the cathedral and Rattentoren. Its route also includes Cuypershuis. Choose it if a detective case appeals more than the outdoor escape pursuit. The detective activity permits four players per team, while the Syndicate mission allows five and includes the square described here.

Both games take 1.5 to 2 hours, use the free Loquiz app and cost €19.95 per team on one phone. Both offer flexible daily starts and twelve months of validity after purchase. Compare group size and story style before choosing a suitable date together. Extra time at individual places belongs alongside the game duration.

Which activity allows five people?

Can we choose when to begin?
