I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

Which route suits exploration and which suits detectives?
Secrets of Ghent combines puzzles and photo tasks with a walk through Korenmarkt, Graslei and St Michael's Bridge. You explore at your own pace, sharing ideas around one team phone. It gives friends a varied set of things to do as they move through the city together.
Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Ghent puts a detective case at the centre of the outing. Its route takes you from Korenmarkt towards Gravensteen and the Belfry. Both games use the free Loquiz app and allow at most four players per team. Choose the exploration style if photo tasks appeal, or the mystery if your party prefers following a case and discussing its next steps.

Where can a five-person team play?
The Ghent Syndicate (outdoor escape game) allows at most five players per team as you pursue Magnus and the stolen formulas. Korenmarkt, Sint-Michielsbrug and Korenlei appear along the walk. The game uses the free Loquiz app on your own phone and takes the story outside into the streets.
That team limit can help when you divide a bachelor or bachelorette group into smaller parties. Give each team a phone and let everyone contribute ideas as you follow the story. You are guiding yourselves, so choose a pace that works for your team. A friendly challenge gives the day an active opening without needing a guide to lead the group through the activity.
How do we organise the booking for several friends?
Each game in Ghent is priced at €19.95 per team for 1.5 to 2 hours of play. A team can contain four players in the exploration or detective option, or five in the outdoor escape game. For a larger guest list, calculate the number of teams first and arrange one phone for each.
You can start on any day whenever you want, and the booking remains valid for 12 months. Agree on your preferred game before assigning friends to teams, since the limits differ. Then choose a time to begin that fits your celebration. The self-guided format lets your party make those arrangements itself while keeping a shared walking activity at the start of the day.
Are these games only for stag groups?
No. A hen or bachelorette group can choose the same games and play in small teams.
What does the team price mean?
You pay €19.95 per team using one phone. The player limit is four, or five for The Ghent Syndicate (outdoor escape game).
Is an app needed in Ghent?
Yes. All three games listed here use the free Loquiz app on your own phone.
Must we book a fixed departure?
You can start whenever you want, every day. Your booking is valid for 12 months.
