I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

What exploration route can friends choose?
Secrets of Basel follows a self-guided walk from Marktplatz to Spalentor and Basel Minster, with puzzles and photo tasks along the way. It runs in the browser on your own phone, with no app needed, and allows at most four players per team. Friends can share observations while exploring together.
Choose this option if varied tasks sound right for your group. One person handles the screen, but everyone can suggest an approach and help make decisions. Follow the activity at your own pace and keep the conversation open to the whole team. For a larger celebration, arrange several small teams and a phone for each group, so all your friends can take part within the player limit.

Where does the detective story take our group?
Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Basel follows a case from Martinskirche past the Münster terrace to Barfüsserplatz. It uses the free Loquiz app on your own phone and allows at most four players per team. Your friends can discuss the mystery while guiding themselves through the walk at their own pace.
Pick this story when investigating together sounds like the focus your bachelor or bachelorette group wants. Decide which friends will share each phone and let everyone offer ideas during the activity. Keep competition between teams relaxed, making the case a common opening to your day. You follow the game without a guide leading the group or deciding its next move, so each team discusses and makes its own decisions throughout the walk.
How do we arrange the team budget and start?
Each Basel game costs €19.95 per team and takes 1.5 to 2 hours. At most four players share one team phone. Count the teams your guest list needs before booking, since a larger party requires several team bookings and devices within that limit.
You can begin whenever you want, every day, and the booking is valid for 12 months. Choose the exploration activity or detective story first, assign friends and check the phone setup. The exploration game runs in a browser, while the mystery uses an app. Agree a start together and leave room for the walk in your celebration plans. These self-guided games let the group organise its own beginning and follow the chosen activity together.
