I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

Which walk combines puzzles and exploration?

Secrets of Basel is a self-guided walking tour from Marktplatz to the Spalentor and Basel Minster, with puzzles and photo tasks. You also pass Peterskirche Square along the route. The game plays in your phone’s browser without an app. Choose this option when colleagues want to explore while following a shared activity. Invite different teammates to read prompts and discuss possible answers before deciding together. Photo tasks offer another way to get involved alongside solving puzzles. Teams of at most four keep the conversation open to each person, so the walk becomes something the whole team helps shape rather than one colleague’s responsibility throughout.

Where does the detective case take you?

Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Basel follows a walking case from Martinskirche past the Münster terrace to Barfüsserplatz. Your team investigates through the free Loquiz app, with at most four players sharing one phone. Pick this theme if your colleagues enjoy talking through a mystery as they explore. Share the prompts and hear everyone’s interpretation before agreeing on your next answer. Changing who reads can help quieter teammates join the discussion alongside the quick answerers. The detective story provides a common focus while the walk creates time to talk between decisions. Colleagues can bring different approaches to the case without needing the full group to agree at every step.

How do you plan the shared team activity?

Both Basel games cost €19.95 per team and take 1.5 to 2 hours. Start whenever you want, every day, with a booking valid for 12 months. Arrange teams of at most four, each with a phone, and choose the game before gathering. All teams can start at the same time and compare their scores after playing. Prepare the browser for the puzzle tour or the free Loquiz app for the mystery. Larger groups can ask for a group quote on the website. Give the full walk enough time in your plans so colleagues can enjoy working together before you continue with other arrangements.

Which option needs no app?

Secrets of Basel runs in the browser on your own phone.

How many colleagues share one device?

At most four players share one phone per team.

Can all teams begin simultaneously?

Yes. Teams can start at the same time and compare their scores.

What should larger groups request?
