I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

How does the gate connect with Secrets?

Secrets of Basel follows a discovery walk from Marktplatz towards Spalentor and Basel Minster, with puzzles and photo tasks along the route. Its stops also include Peterskirche Square and University of Basel Entrance after Marktplatz. Notice the gate as part of the outing before returning to the current prompt on your phone. Your companions can compare observations and possible interpretations before choosing an answer together. Share the information so every player can contribute an idea, keeping the discovery collaborative while leaving attention for the real surroundings. The phone connects the tasks, but looking at the city remains part of the experience rather than simply moving between places behind one person’s screen throughout the walk.

What investigation can your group select instead?

Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Basel includes Martinskirche, Rathaus Basel, Basler Münster and Pfalz in that walking order. The fictional case gives your companions clues to discuss while real locations provide changing surroundings. Choose it if investigating interests the group more than the varied discovery tasks of Secrets. Agree on which format everyone wants before selecting a game, then focus on one shared adventure together. Each player can offer a possible explanation or question a first answer, helping the team choose its next response. Plan separately arranged interior visits outside the walking activity so each part of your day receives its own time and attention as you enjoy exploring the city with your companions on foot.

What do one team’s phone options and price require?

Both listed adventures cost €19.95 per team, take around 1.5 to 2 hours and allow up to four players sharing one phone. Secrets runs in your own phone browser without an app; Sherlock Holmes uses the free Loquiz app. You can start daily at a flexible time, and the purchase stays valid for 12 months. Choose a suitable moment when the group has room for the route and the tasks without rushing into another plan. During play, read or show prompts to all your companions so everyone follows the current challenge. Different interpretations can make the next response a shared decision, keeping every player involved throughout the selected adventure as you explore real places together on foot.
