I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

Which walk offers puzzles and photo tasks?
Secrets of Goes is a self-guided walking tour past the Grote Markt, Maria Magdalenakerk and the old harbour, with puzzles and photo tasks. It uses the free Loquiz app, with at most four players sharing a phone. Choose this option for a group that wants an exploratory challenge with different ways to take part. Friends can discuss the puzzle prompts and join the photo tasks while the route gives everyone something to notice. Take turns reading so the activity does not depend on a single confident player. For a bachelor or bachelorette day, the tour can supply a shared opening without asking the organiser to invent a new task at every place.

Where does the detective mystery take place?
Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Goes follows a walking case from the Grote Markt to the Manhuistuin. You also pass Grote of Maria Magdalenakerk along the route. The game uses the free Loquiz app on one phone, for at most four players per team. Pick the detective story if your friends would enjoy discussing a case as they explore. Let everyone hear each prompt and weigh different ideas before deciding on the next answer. A small team makes that conversation easier to share than a discussion involving the entire party at once. Friendly competition can bring energy to the gathering while the mystery keeps your teammates working towards a common aim.
What do you need to organise first?
Both Goes games take 1.5 to 2 hours and cost €19.95 per team. You can start whenever you want, every day, within the booking’s 12-month validity. Sort your friends into teams of at most four, arrange a phone for each and prepare the free Loquiz app. Choose the game before meeting so the group knows whether it will follow the exploratory tour or the detective case. Leave enough space for the complete walk in the celebration schedule. With those decisions made, your friends can spend this part of the day talking through the challenge and enjoying a shared activity before continuing with the rest of your party plans.
