I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

How does the exploration route include the church?
Secrets of Verviers takes you past the church, Grand Théâtre de Verviers, the city hall and David Fountain. These places give the walk different settings while puzzles and photo tasks provide something for your companions to share. The church becomes one part of a broader outing rather than the only destination for the day.
At the stop, notice the building and be considerate of people visiting or using it. No church admission or interior visit is specified for the activity. If you want an additional visit, plan it independently alongside the game so your group understands what the shared day includes and where extra visiting time belongs in the rest of your plans.

What phone setup does the puzzle walk use?
Secrets of Verviers runs in your phone browser without an app, for up to four players sharing one device. The self-guided activity combines puzzles and photo tasks, letting companions contribute in different ways. Someone can explain an answer while another helps make a photograph as the walk develops through real city places.
Let everyone hear each instruction before choosing a response. A player without the phone may suggest another approach worth explaining. Reading and discussing can change hands during the outing, so the device holder need not manage every decision alone. This helps the activity remain common to the whole group rather than something only one person follows throughout the walk.
What detective activity offers a different story?
Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Verviers leads from Place du Marché towards the Perron, with the city hall and Église Saint-Remacle among its stops. Choose it for a continuing case, or the exploration walk for varied tasks and the route including Sainte-Julienne. The detective activity uses the free Loquiz app rather than browser play.
Both games take 1.5 to 2 hours and cost €19.95 per team of up to four players on one phone. Both offer flexible daily starts and twelve months of validity after purchase. Compare their activity styles and phone setups with your companions before choosing a suitable day. Extra visiting time belongs alongside the game duration in your shared plan.
