I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

How we check reviews

These reviews were left by players on Google and other review sites and are copied from there as they are, with their source.

Where does the city hall appear in Secrets?

Secrets of Verviers includes Sainte-Julienne Church, Grand Théâtre de Verviers, Verviers City Hall and David Fountain in that walking order. Puzzles and photo tasks turn the route into a discovery activity for your group. Notice the city hall during the walk and arrange any interior visit independently of the game. Your companions can compare observations before considering what the current prompt asks. Sharing the information lets every player contribute an interpretation or possible answer, keeping the activity collaborative. The phone connects the challenges, but looking at the real places remains part of the experience as you explore together rather than simply moving behind one person’s screen throughout the route.

What changes if you choose the detective case?

Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Verviers includes Place du Marché, Hôtel de Ville de Verviers, Église Saint-Remacle and Musée des Beaux-Arts et de la Céramique in that sequence. The city hall appears under its French name on this detective route, which gives your companions a fictional investigation to discuss. Choose it if a case appeals more than the varied discovery tasks in Secrets. Agree on which format everyone wants before selecting an adventure, then follow that one activity together. Real locations give the walk changing surroundings, while the investigation provides clues to compare. Each player can suggest explanations and help choose the next response instead of leaving all decisions to whoever carries the phone.

How do team price, phone and time compare?

Both adventures cost €19.95 per team, take around 1.5 to 2 hours and allow up to four players sharing one phone. Secrets runs in your own phone browser without an app, while Sherlock Holmes uses the free Loquiz app. Flexible daily starts and 12 months of validity let you choose a suitable moment. Leave room in your plans for the walk and its tasks, with separate visits given their own time. During play, read prompts aloud or show the screen so every companion understands the current challenge. Comparing different interpretations can turn the next answer into a shared discussion, keeping everyone involved as the chosen adventure continues through the city.
