I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

How we check reviews

These reviews were left by players on Google and other review sites and are copied from there as they are, with their source.

How should the museum fit your city plans?

Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Ypres passes In Flanders Fields Museum at Grote Markt 34. The museum is a real cultural destination, separate from the fictional murder case your group investigates. Do not treat the game's plot as an account of the events or history presented there. Arrange any museum visit independently, since a passing route does not establish admission or an included interior tour. Give that visit its own time and attention. For the separate walking activity, return to the instructions together and let everyone explain an idea before choosing an answer, keeping the investigation shared rather than only understood by the person carrying the phone.

What setting does the separate game describe?

The game description leads from Cloth Hall to St. Martin's Cathedral and the Menin Gate. With the museum featured here, those places give your detective walk a Ypres setting. Religious and commemorative destinations have real meanings separate from the fictional case, so notice them respectfully. Follow the game for actual progress instead of using the names to create an independent tour timetable. Any interior visit or time for commemoration belongs outside the activity and needs its own plans. Between tasks, compare possible explanations and hear another suggestion before deciding. The walk gives those discussions room while the fictional investigation connects the group's choices throughout the outing.

What are the practical details of the game?

The Ypres mystery takes 1.5 to 2 hours and costs €19.95 per team. At most 4 players share one phone using the free Loquiz app. Friends, colleagues or a couple can follow the same information when instructions are read aloud and responses discussed before an answer is entered. Let different players offer the first suggestion, keeping the device as a tool for everyone's participation. You can start whenever you want, every day, and the game remains valid for 12 months. Reserve a suitable period for the walking activity itself, with independent museum visits and commemorative stops outside the game's own duration and fictional narrative.

Is the fictional case about the museum’s history?

Keep the fictional detective story separate from the real history presented by the museum.

Does the walking game include museum admission?

Arrange any museum visit independently from the detective activity.

What app do we need to investigate?

You play with the free Loquiz app on your own phone.

What is the team charge and size limit?

The cost is €19.95 per team, with at most 4 players sharing one phone.
