I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

Why does Ypres feel so haunting in autumn?
During the First World War Ypres was shelled until almost nothing was left. The Cloth Hall and St. Martin's Cathedral you see today were rebuilt stone by stone after the war. Around the town lie many military cemeteries, and every evening at eight the Last Post sounds under the Menin Gate for the soldiers who never came home.
Ypres also has a stranger story: in the Middle Ages, cats were thrown from the tower of the Cloth Hall, a custom now remembered in the cat festival, the Kattenstoet. In Belgium the start of November is the time of All Saints, when people visit graves and light candles. In Ypres, that quiet remembrance is never far away.

What do you see in the Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Ypres?
The Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Ypres has a story based on Sherlock Holmes. You solve a murder case on foot, at your own pace, using the free Loquiz app.
The route starts at the Ramparts Cemetery, where soldiers lie along the old town walls by the water. From there you head to the Cloth Hall, and the case also brings you to Essex Farm Cemetery, near the spot where John McCrae wrote the poem In Flanders Fields, and to St. Martin's Cathedral. The mix of a detective story and these places makes for an evening you think about afterwards. Plan on 1.5 to 2 hours.
