I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

Which places frame your Ypres investigation?

Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Ypres takes you from the Cloth Hall to St Martin’s Cathedral and the Menin Gate at your own pace. You follow the case on foot using the free Loquiz app. Treat the real places of remembrance respectfully and keep the fictional murder mystery separate from their significance. The surroundings provide the setting while the game gives colleagues a shared problem to discuss. Hear different interpretations of the information before deciding your response together. Each person can contribute an idea, making the detective work part of the small group’s conversation as you explore and participate alongside one another during the outing.

How can several teams share the work outing?

Each team uses its own phone and has at most 4 players; all teams can start at the same time and compare their scores. Decide who plays together before beginning, perhaps mixing colleagues who do not often work in the same small group. The case offers their first common subject. Keep the screen visible and invite different explanations before choosing an answer together. Comparing scores gives the wider group a point of discussion afterwards, while shared decisions within each team leave room for everyone during play. The phone holder can investigate alongside the others rather than needing to provide every idea throughout the game.

What should you allow before starting the activity?

Plan for 1.5 to 2 hours and €19.95 per team; larger groups can ask for a group quote on the website. You can play daily, start whenever you like and use the booking within 12 months. Prepare the free Loquiz app on the team phones and settle the groups before the investigation begins. Choose a starting moment that lets colleagues gather, then give the walk enough time in your plans for exploring and discussing possible answers. Once everyone is ready, the mystery supplies a shared task for the outing. You can compare scores afterwards and return to the different ways your teams approached the case together.

What app accompanies the case?

You play with the free Loquiz app on your own phone.

How large can a team be?

At most 4 players use one phone per team.

Can all teams start together?

Yes. All teams can start at the same time and compare their scores.

What should a larger group arrange?

Larger groups can ask for a group quote on the website. The price is €19.95 per team.
