I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

Which detective route includes the museum?
Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Bielefeld includes Historisches Museum Bielefeld, Jahnplatz, Süsterkirche and Altstädter Nicolaikirche in that walking sequence. These real locations provide surroundings for a fictional investigation that your group follows on foot. Notice the museum during the route and arrange any interior visit independently of the game. Your companions can compare possible meanings of a clue before choosing an answer together, with each player able to contribute an observation or question. Share the prompt so the reasoning stays open to everyone. This keeps the case collaborative while leaving attention for the city rather than concentrating only on the next step displayed on the shared phone throughout the walk with your companions.

What discovery story can you choose instead?
Secrets of Bielefeld follows a fictional quest to guide Anna Luise von Hoheneinfalt to where she belongs. Its route includes Bielefeld Hauptbahnhof, Katholisch-Apostolische Kirche and Klosterplatz among the places you encounter in that sequence. Choose this adventure if its premise interests your companions more than a detective case. Keep the game’s invented events separate from the history of the real locations along the route. Agree on which story everyone wants before selecting a game, then focus on one shared activity together. Each player can compare observations and suggest possible answers, with different ideas becoming part of the discussion before the team decides how to continue exploring the city on foot while following the chosen quest.
What do one team’s phone, price and time involve?
Both listed adventures cost €19.95 per team, take around 1.5 to 2 hours and allow up to four players sharing one phone. Secrets runs in your own phone browser without an app; Sherlock Holmes uses the free Loquiz app. You can start daily at a flexible time, and your purchase remains valid for 12 months. Choose a suitable moment when the group has room for the route and its tasks without rushing into another plan. During play, read or show prompts to all your companions so everyone follows the current challenge. Different interpretations can make the next response a shared decision, keeping each player involved throughout the selected adventure as you explore real places together on foot.
