I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

How we check reviews

These reviews were left by players on Google and other review sites and are copied from there as they are, with their source.

How does Secrets include the church?

Secrets of Bielefeld lists Bielefeld Hauptbahnhof, Katholisch-Apostolische Kirche and Klosterplatz among its route points. You piece together clues in a fictional mission involving Anna Luise von Hoheneinfalt, following the walk with your own companions. The activity takes 1.5 to 2 hours and works in the browser on your own phone, with no app needed. The church becomes one point on a broader city route, while the mission gives your group a reason to solve together. Choose this option for a shared search through Bielefeld. Any independent church visit can be planned separately around the activity, keeping the game’s storyline distinct from the real places you pass.

Where does the detective case lead?

Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Bielefeld follows a fictional investigation from Jahnplatz past Nicolaikirche to Alter Markt. Those three places frame the described walking route through the centre. Your group investigates on foot at its own pace, using the free Loquiz app on your phone. The game takes 1.5 to 2 hours. Choose it if your companions would enjoy talking through possible explanations for a case. The mission with Anna Luise belongs to Secrets and follows its own route, including the church. Decide which story your group wants to share before beginning, then follow that game’s instructions together as you progress through the city.

How do a shared phone and flexible start work?

A Bielefeld game costs €19.95 per team for at most 4 players sharing one phone. You can start whenever you want, every day, and your game is valid for 12 months. Choose a day with your companions and make room for the full playing time alongside your other plans. Friends can compare ideas, a couple can solve together, and colleagues can take on a common task outside. Check the phone setup for your selection before starting. Share what the device asks so everyone has a chance to suggest an approach. Your own group follows the self-guided activity rather than meeting a guide at a fixed departure.
