I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

Which city search passes the theatre?

Secrets of Bielefeld passes Theater am Alten Markt during a fictional mission with Anna Luise von Hoheneinfalt. Its listed route also includes Bielefeld Hauptbahnhof, Katholisch-Apostolische Kirche and Klosterplatz. You piece together clues to guide Anna Luise to where she belongs, playing in your phone’s browser with no app needed. Allow 1.5 to 2 hours for the activity. Choose it for the story-led search and its connection to the theatre. Any independent theatre plans can be arranged separately around playing. The route provides real places to encounter, while the imagined mission gives your companions something to consider together throughout the walk.

What is the detective alternative through the centre?

Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Bielefeld describes a fictional case from Jahnplatz past Nicolaikirche to Alter Markt. Those three places frame the route for the investigation. Your team follows it on foot at its own pace through the free Loquiz app on your phone. The playing time is 1.5 to 2 hours. Pick it when comparing theories sounds more appealing than a search mission. The search with Anna Luise has another story and its own route connected to the theatre. Agree on your experience before beginning, then follow the selected game’s tasks together rather than blending the two activities into a single outing through Bielefeld.

How do you plan the game with your companions?

Each Bielefeld game costs €19.95 per team for at most 4 players sharing one phone. You can start whenever you want, every day, and the game remains valid for 12 months. Find a suitable day with your companions and leave time for the full activity alongside other plans. Check whether your choice uses the browser or Loquiz before starting. Friends, couples, families or colleagues can share the tasks and compare ideas outside. Your own group follows the self-guided experience without meeting a guide at a scheduled departure. Give everyone room to contribute, so the shared phone carries a common activity that the whole team takes part in during the walk.
