I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

How we check reviews

These reviews were left by players on Google and other review sites and are copied from there as they are, with their source.

Where does the museum appear in the detective route?

Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Frankfurt takes you past the Historical Museum, this museum, Römerberg and the New Old Town. These places give your investigation changing city settings while the case supplies something to discuss between them. The museum becomes part of a broader outing rather than the only destination for the day.

No museum admission or exhibition visit is specified for the activity. If you want an additional visit, plan it independently alongside the walking game. At the stop itself, give the real place a moment before reading onward. Clear expectations help companions understand what the shared day includes and where extra visiting time belongs in the rest of your plans.

How do you share the investigation as a team?

Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Frankfurt is self-guided through the free Loquiz app on one phone. Up to four players form a team and compare their theories about the case. The device provides the activity while your group supplies the conversation and decisions that move the investigation along the route.

Let everyone hear each task before agreeing on an answer. A companion without the phone in their hand may have another approach worth explaining. Reading and discussing can change hands during the walk, so the device holder need not manage every decision alone. This helps all players remain involved rather than simply following the person who is operating the game.

What different story runs in your phone browser?

Secrets of Frankfurt takes you past Kunstverein, a historic square with coloured houses, the Historical Museum and Eiserner Steg. You help Rahel Hirsch rediscover why she returned to her hometown in this separate fictional adventure. It runs in your phone browser without an app, unlike the detective activity’s Loquiz setup. Choose the investigation for the route including Stoltze-Museum.

Both games take 1.5 to 2 hours and cost €19.95 per team of up to four players on one phone. Both offer flexible daily starts and twelve months of validity after purchase. Compare their stories and phone setups before choosing a suitable day with your companions. Extra visiting time belongs alongside the game duration.

Does the activity include museum admission?

Which game needs no app?

Can three people share a game?
