I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

How we check reviews

These reviews were left by players on Google and other review sites and are copied from there as they are, with their source.

How does the garden fit into the detective walk?

Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Leipzig includes the garden, Leipzig University Library, Gewandhaus and the Grassi Museum of Ethnology among its route stops. These places give the investigation different settings as the walk continues. The activity links them with a shared case, rather than treating each as a separate outing.

No garden admission or interior visit is specified for the game. If you want to spend additional time visiting the garden, consider that independently when planning your day. Companions may have different priorities, so a clear outline helps everyone know what the outing includes. The route stop and a separate garden visit can have their own places in that plan.

What does the investigation ask of your team?

Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Leipzig is self-guided through the free Loquiz app on one phone. Up to four players form a team, discussing the case and comparing their ideas as they explore on foot. The device carries the activity, while your group makes the decisions together.

Let everyone hear the task before agreeing on an answer. One person may have a theory straight away, while another sees a different possibility worth discussing. Changing who reads or explains can help all players remain involved. This turns the investigation into a common activity rather than something the phone holder operates while the others simply follow the route.

Which alternative offers puzzles and photo tasks?

Secrets of Leipzig takes you past City-Hochhaus Leipzig, St. Nicholas Church, the University of Leipzig and the market square. Choose this separate exploration game if your group prefers puzzles and photo tasks to a continuing detective case. For the route that includes the garden, select the investigation described here.

Both activities take 1.5 to 2 hours and cost €19.95 per team of up to four players. Each uses the free Loquiz app on one phone, offers flexible daily starts and remains valid for twelve months after purchase. Compare the activity styles with your companions before finding a suitable day to explore the city together.
