I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. What I especially love is how CityGame turns a normal walk through the city into an interactive experience. It’s perfect for friends, families, or team outings, and it makes sightseeing much more exciting than the usual tours. Everything was easy to use, the challenges were fun and clever, and it really encouraged us to look closer at the city and its hidden details. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a unique and memorable way to explore!

This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

What dark history lies under Eindhoven?

Eindhoven looks modern, and there is a reason for that. On 6 December 1942 British bombers attacked the Philips factories in Operation Oyster, and the raid also hit the streets around them. Civilians died that day, and the Monument Operation Oyster in the centre remembers it.

Less than two years later, on 18 September 1944, Eindhoven was liberated, which is why one of its main squares is called 18 Septemberplein. The war left deep marks on the centre, and much of the city you walk through today was rebuilt afterwards. On a dark evening the contrast is striking: the glowing Blob, the old Sint-Catharinakerk and the quiet monuments tell a story of light and loss side by side.

Which game do you play on Halloween in Eindhoven?

Secrets of Eindhoven runs from the Markt past the Philips Museum and De Witte Dame. On the way you see the 18 Septemberplein, The Blob and the Monument Operation Oyster, and you puzzle out the stories behind them.

Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Eindhoven is a detective case based on Sherlock Holmes. Its route takes you past the PreHistorisch Dorp, the DAF Museum and the Sint-Catharinakerk. A murder mystery on a dark evening is a fitting way to spend Halloween.

The Eindhoven Syndicate (outdoor escape game) has you chase Magnus and the stolen formulas from the Markt to the Stadhuis Eindhoven and the Van Abbemuseum, with Stratumseind further along the route. It is an outdoor alternative to an escape room for 2 to 5 players.

Is Ghost Hunters coming to Eindhoven?

Not yet, but it is on its way: our ghost game Ghost Hunters is coming to Eindhoven. Leave your e-mail address on this page and we will tell you when the first teams can play.

For now, choose one of the three games above and start after sunset. Halloween in the Netherlands is a fairly young custom, more about dressing up for parties than about old rituals, so an evening walk through a lit-up city with a puzzle in your hand is a good alternative. With Stratumseind, the city's well-known bar street, close by, a drink afterwards is never far away.

What does a halloween Eindhoven game cost?

You pay €19.95 per team: one phone, at most 4 players. The Eindhoven Syndicate is played with 2 to 5 players. The code HALLOWEEN50 gives 50% off all our games until 2 November.

How long are we on the road?

A game takes 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on how fast you walk and solve the riddles.

Which app do we need?

All three Eindhoven games use the free Loquiz app on your own phone.

Can several teams play at the same time?

Yes, each team plays on its own phone with its own ticket, so a larger group can split into several teams.

Is halloween Eindhoven with City Game a good family outing?

Yes, families can play together: you walk, look around and solve riddles as a team.
