Wir (Mein Mann, unsere 9-jährige Tochter und ich) haben heute ganz spontan das Spiel "Moordmysterie Düsseldorf" gebucht und gespielt. Die Buchung verlief schnell und reibungslos. Es hat super viel Spaß gemacht! Die Story, die Rätsel, das Konzept, die Route, die Gestaltung der App... richtig gut!!! Das Spiel würde ich vor allem Familien mit Kindern empfehlen. Für Erwachsene waren die Rätsel (meiner Meinung nach) zu einfach. Aber trotzdem wegen der schönen Route durch Düsseldorf, der Story, den lustigen Anweisungen zwischendurch eine schöne Aktion, die man zusammen machen kann.

I had a fantastic experience with CityGame! The concept is creative, engaging, and a great way to explore a city in a completely new way. The games are well-designed, combining puzzles, storytelling, and adventure so you’re constantly discovering something interesting around every corner. This is an interesting way to conduct a self-guided Amsterdam city tour. It used the GPS on your phone to guide you to stops on a route. There are mini quizzes once you arrive at the stops on the path. The quizzes draw your attention to features in front of you or to a brief history of the place. In many cases, we visited a spot that would not have been obvious as a regular passer by. The tour as a whole was interesting to us as newcomers, but I would have liked more information on many locations we visited - a few links outside of the app for each place would have been helpful. Beyond that, the interface was a bit clunky and sometimes awkward to navigate. We definitely don't regret trying this out and feel like we got our money's worth on the experience.

Which old legends belong to Emmen?
Emmen lies in a part of Drenthe full of hunebeds, huge stone graves built thousands of years ago. Long before anyone knew who built them, people said only giants could have moved such stones, and the word hunebed still points to that old belief. Several of these graves lie in the woods around Emmen.
The other dark side of the region is the peat. For centuries the bogs of south-east Drenthe were dug away by hand, and the Veen peat garden on the Secrets route reminds you of that landscape. In the bogs of Drenthe, bodies around two thousand years old have been found, preserved by the peat. On a misty autumn evening that history feels very close.

Which City Game fits Halloween in Emmen?
Secrets of Emmen starts on the Marktplein and leads you through the centre past the Grote of Pancratiuskerk, the Atlas Theater and the statue Eva (1968) by Hans Ittman, on to the Veen peat garden and the Raadhuisplein.
In Sherlock Holmes murder mystery in Emmen you solve a crime on foot, in a story based on Sherlock Holmes. You start at the Grote of Pancratiuskerk and walk on through the centre and Rensenpark towards Wildlands. A dark park makes a good stage for a murder case.
The Emmen Syndicate (outdoor escape game) sends you after Magnus and the stolen formulas, from the Marktplein and the Grote of Pancratiuskerk along the Hoofdstraat to the Willinkplein. It is an outdoor alternative to an escape room for 2 to 5 players.
